Description
Self catering 2 bedroom country villa / sleeps 4 + 2
A Sicilian dream holiday: Surrounded by olive trees and flowering oleander lies the Villa Sette Favole as radiant white beauty in the rolling hills behind the resort of the West Siclilian Balestrate. The sea can be reached within 2 kilometres, via the Contrada Manostalla, named after the local commune of Balestrade.
However, the lively bustle of the coastal town, with its several beaches, has been left further behind once you reach your destination at the Villa. The Villa Sette Favole presents itself as a different world: a world in which the ancient Sicily, with its Phoenician and Greek roots is felt. In this villa, every day of the week tells a new tale as the name suggests ‘Sette Favole’ ‘Seven Fairy Tales’.
The owners of Villa Sette Favole restored a hundred year old country house according to historical standards and created with their impressing sense for style, a modern-classic gem which not only convinces through its elegance and comfort, but also the power and finesse that tickles the senses. The consideration for environmental aspects on the other hand creates some simplicity on some features of the villa. A magnificent outdoor shower has been placed between fragrant sage and rosemary bushes. The water comes from a cistern; therefore there is no washing machine or dishwasher. But there are wonderfully fragrant mint tea for an invigorating blend, plus other aromatic herbs and fresh lemons. Even the large olive grove is strictly 'organically' grown and maintained.
A transport in the form of a car or scooter is strongly advised for guests of the Vuilla Sette Favole, as this holiday home is situated away from publicly supplied infrastructure, although very centrally located geographically: Trapani and Monte'Erice and trips to the Eolian islands are at almost the same distance (about 40 km of motorway) as Palermo, or, across the Mountains Monreale, with its famous cathedral and well known cloister of the former Benedictine monastery. After Segesta, with its enormous, over 2500 years old temple and the amphitheatre from the Roman period it is only 10 kilometres to Scopello and 15 kilometres to the adjacent Zingaro nature reserve. For admirers of the late Salvatore Giuliano, the country house, which, incidentally, was presented 2 years ago in a French architecture magazine, is located after Montelepre, where as the last bandit in Europe, he was shot in 1950 at the age of 28 years in a backyard of the city probably
