Torre Canalotto is a large, aristocratic villa, built around an ancient watchtower, near the town of Castelvetrano and Selinunte, Europe’s most extensive archaeological site. Various beautiful beaches line the unspoilt coast nearby, with the Oasis in Torre Salsa and Punta Granitola being protected Environmental groups such as WWF. This part of Western Sicily is particularly renowned for its production of high quality olive oil, extracted from a variety of olives called the ‘Nocellara del Belice’.
Torre Canalotto is situated on a hill, which is cultivated with olive and citrus trees. The property is surrounded by a beautiful Mediterranean garden with palm and cypress trees, extensive lawns, a small pond with bamboo and papyrus, all creating a perfect backdrop for the stunning pool and pool area. The villa’s main house and annex have been furnished combining the new with the old, creating a striking, individual effect.
The location of the property is ideal as a base for exploring the Western part of Sicily, from visits to the Archaeological site of Selinunte, the Salt Pans of Trapani and Marsala, Erice, Segesta, Scala dei Turchi in Realmonte, a visit to the Egadi islands, Wineries such as the Pellegrino and Florio, to the famous Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, are all within easy driving distance and well worth a vistit.
