The small bishop town Cefalù has a wonderful cathedral from the Norman times and one of the most important museums in Sicily. This city has a beach within the town which is two km long, and quiet bays as well as an almost perfect infrastucture with excellent restaurants and a bus line connecting ervery important points of the city and the surrounding area. The quality and the furnishing of the holiday flats, which have been built in the historic center recently, are top. Furthermore this small and picturesque city of the Middle Ages is an ideal starting point for excursions into the center of the island, to the Madonie moutains peaking out at more than 1000 m, then to Agrigento, Trapani or Messina. Some buses connect these places. Palermo is one hour away by train or by car. The airport of Palermo is just as accessible. Some boats connect daily the Aeolian islands during the summerseason. In all other respects the pictorial medieval small town is an ideal location for trips close to the island. And rising up to over 1000 meters are Madonie, furthermore Agrigent, Trapani or Messina, which also can be visited with the local bus. Palermo and it's airport can comfortably be attained within one hour. During the high season a daily speedboat connection leads to the Lipari islands.
