Villa Nemo is a family villa with a wonderful swimming pool. It is perched on the north side of Monte Tauro, with spectacular views of the sea and coastline as far as the mainland of Calabria. It is located in the centre of Taormina and the entrance to Corso Umberto (Porta Messina) is a few minutes' walk away, as are the equipped beaches of Isola Bella and Mazzarò (about 1 kilometre away). The property is distributed over several levels, typical of houses on the side of the hill, allowing one to enjoy the view from each level, in a succession of descents, stone staircases, and lawn areas that make up the garden. The villa is distributed over three floors connected by both internal and external stairs, making each floor usable independently, and enjoys terraces with breathtaking sea views. On the upper floor is a terrace for relaxation, perfect for aperitifs. On a level with the living area, the large shaded terrace will allow numerous meals to be shared around the large table. The master bedroom, on the middle floor, has its own terrace where one can relax on sun loungers. On the level with the lower floor, a lawn area is perfect for children's games or a picnic. The interior is designed for comfort with an attractive mix of contemporary furnishings and a combination of large windows and light parquet flooring that make the rooms bright and airy, the generous spaces provide privacy. On the upper level, the spacious living area that extends out onto the terrace with a picturesque sea view will be the spot for convivial get-togethers. On an even lower level, the inviting large infinity pool offers an unforgettable sea view and the sunbathing area is arranged to ensure complete relaxation thanks to the romantic canopy and an attractive designer armchair, in the sign of the most sober elegance. For those not satisfied with the numerous stairs to keep fit, the small gym, located on the lower level, will certainly be appreciated.

Interior:

Villa Nemo has three floors. The main entrance is on the upper floor. To welcome you, the breathtaking view from the terrace at the entrance to the villa. From here, there is direct access to the open-plan environment. The room comprises a living room with sofas, a cosy kitchen, a bathroom with bathtub and a dining area with a table for 8. The latter opens onto the large terrace where one gathers around the large dining table shaded by the sail cover to enjoy the majestic view of the sea as far as Calabria. Here there is also a fixed gas barbecue and a characteristic stone sink. Down a flight of stairs to the intermediate floor is the sleeping area with three bedrooms. The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom with shower and a terrace with two sun loungers. The double bedroom and the single (1.40m bed) share a spacious bathroom with separate bath and shower. Downstairs, the second open-plan room (without air conditioning) comprises a lounge with TV screen and comfortable sofa, a dining area, a study corner, and a kitchenette. French windows give access to the lawn outside. Slightly secluded on the same floor is a double bedroom (with air conditioning) with a private bathroom with shower. The laundry room is also located on this floor. From outside there is access to the alternating downhill path with stairs leading down to the swimming pool. Below the pool is the small gymnasium (without air conditioning) with a bathroom with shower. From here a short downhill path leads to the car park.

Exterior/Park:

The rarity of finding a spacious villa in the centre of Taormina with a swimming pool and sea view entails its location on a plot of land lying on the side of the mountain, a characteristic and usual feature in Taormina, and one that determines the structure's privileged position. The main entrance gate opens onto the unexpected terraced garden. The downhill path, framed by the Mediterranean maquis garden, leads to the main entrance of the villa. The garden of Villa Nemo is laid out on the various terraces of the house. From the upper pedestrian gate to the driveway gate on the lower level there is a descent of approximately 500m that intersperses paths and stairs. The garden bordering the descent consists of typical Mediterranean scrub with flowering spots and lemon and fruit trees. Palms, cacti, Aloe vera and Strelitzia are the most impressive plants. At the level of the main entrance is a spacious terrace with a sofa and armchairs. The terrace level with the dining room on the upper floor houses a large table under a pergola as well as a fixed gas barbecue. On the middle floor is a further terrace with two sun loungers for use by the master bedroom, and on the lower floor an English-style lawn leads down to the steps leading down to the swimming pool. From each terrace there is a spectacular sea view. The last downhill avenue leads from the swimming pool to the small gymnasium and finally to the parking area with a manual driveway gate (for a maximum of four parking spaces) that opens directly onto the municipal road. At this level there is also a pedestrian gate that opens onto the same municipal road leading to the sea with a path of road, path and stairs totalling approximately 1 km.

Swimming pool:

The pool area is located on a lower level of the house and is reached by a downhill path of about 150m, partly by path and partly by 20 steps. The infinity pool is located on the last terrace of this large garden and the view is left intact thanks to the glass railing. From here one can admire the coast of Taormina all the way to Calabria. The pool area is bordered by a 60-square-metre polished concrete solarium where there are sun loungers, two sunshades, a four-poster bed and a masonry seat for five. Beyond the solarium, a small lawn area leads to the path leading down to the small gymnasium with shower room and finally to the parking area and gate below. The rectangular pool, lined with mosaic on the inside, measures 13 x 6 m and is between 1.50 and 2.20 m deep. It is sanitised with chlorine and is accessed by internal steps. A shower with hot water is located near the pool. Thanks to the lighting both outside and inside the pool, the pool can also be enjoyed in the evening. It will be open from the last Saturday in April to the first Saturday in November.

Location 

Villa Nemo is located just off one of the streets of Taormina that run up to Porta Messina and around the perimeter of the city. It is only a 10-minute walk from Corso Umberto, the city's main pedestrian street, and the historic centre of Taormina. It is also conveniently close to the cable car and bus terminal. A stepped path leads to the beach and more precisely to two of the most beautiful bays in the world: Mazzarò and Isola Bella. The descent only takes about 10 minutes, but on the way back you might prefer to opt for a 3-minute cable car ride. The villa has two entrances, the upper gate leading down some stairs to the residence and the lower gate, where the car park is located, leading down steps to the villa.
