According to local history, the villa’s first owner, the young English aristocrat Miss Mabel Hill, reserved the master suite for Edward VII, with whom she is said to have shared a secret love affair. The History of the Villa
The villa was built in the second half of the nineteenth century and reflects the influence of the English Neo-Gothic tradition, reinterpreted through decorative and structural refinement. In the 1940s it was acquired by Count Vittorio Cini of Venice, who entrusted its restoration to the renowned architect Tomaso Buzzi, one of the foremost interpreters of twentieth-century Italian style. His intervention enriched the residence with sophisticated humanistic and artistic references, helping to establish it as one of Sicily’s most evocative properties.
