Every villa name links to its page, and the "Private pool" filter shows all 73 +. Unheated pools are open for part of the year — Villa Tao Bay's, for example, from 1 April to 31 October — and each villa page gives the pool's size and its opening dates; the heated pools are available for most or all of the year — the villa page gives the months.
Nine villas have a heated pool, which makes them the ones to book first for April, May, October and the Christmas weeks. At most of them the heating is included in the price and draws on the villa's electricity allowance — anything above the allowance is charged, so we show you how to read the meter when you arrive. Two exceptions: at Villa Mimì heating is on request at €3,000 a week, and at Villa Rosa Nero and Villa Pillirina the pool is heated from March to November rather than all. For a pool and the sea in the same afternoon without getting in the car. On sand: Villa La Palma (Marina di Modica, 30 m from the sandy beach), Villa Meraviglia (Noto, 25 m, heated pool), and Villa Tao Bay (Taormina, 25 m, with a path to the villa's own beach area. Where the view is from the pool terrace itself — Villa Tao Bay and Villa Belvedere in Taormina, Villa Angelina above the Plemmirio marine reserve, Villa Elaia in Cefalù, and many more — you swim looking at the sea. Where you stay decides what a week looks like. Each area page describes the place and lists the villas we have there; these are the four choices most people are making.
East coast — Taormina and Etna. The town on its rock, Isola Bella below it, the volcano behind, and Catania airport within the hour. Most of our Taormina villas sit above the sea rather than on it, so expect a short drive or a steep walk to the beach. South-east — Syracuse, Noto and the Baroque towns. Long sandy beaches at Fontane Bianche and Marina di Modica, the Plemmirio marine reserve for rocky swimming, and Ortigia, Noto and Modica within a short drive of each other. West — San Vito Lo Capo to Agrigento. The clearest water and the whitest sand at San Vito, the salt pans and Erice at Trapani, Greek temples at Segesta, Selinunte and Agrigento, and fewer visitors than the east. With Dates Selected: The price displayed on each villa card reflects the total cost for the entire villa for your specific dates. Without Dates Selected: The card displays a "From" price, which represents the lowest available rate (low season price) for that villa per week. Bed linen, towels, the final clean and pool maintenance are included at all / nearly all villas. Where a villa has a heated pool, the heating is included too.
Charged separately at many villas: electricity above the villa's included allowance — a heated pool in the cooler months is what usually takes you over it, so we show you how to read the meter on arrival — although at some villas electricity is included in full, and the inclusions table on the villa page says which; a refundable security deposit, the amount stated on each villa page; and the tourist tax, which the local council "shown on each villa page".
On request, at a price we quote in advance: a private chef — never included at any villa; extra cleaning during the week; airport transfers; cots and high chairs, which are free at most villas and carry a small charge at a few — tell us which villa and we'll confirm; and a dog, at 37 of our villas — one small dog, with the owner's approval, and they usually ask to see a photo first.
Changeover day: many villas are Saturday to Saturday with a seven-night minimum, and many aren't. The villa page says which.

Can I rent a villa in Sicily with a pool near the beach?
Yes. Villa Tao Bay, Villa Angelina, Villa La Palma, Villa Meraviglia, Villa La Favorita, Villa Azulea, Villa Aronica, Villa Meridiana, Villa Acquamarina, and Villa Elaia all have a private pool and a beach or direct sea access within 50 metres, with no road to cross, and many more are within a ten-minute walk. None of our pools is fenced or gated. Several have a shallow end— ask us which — and children need supervising at every villa; a shallow end is not a safety feature.
It varies by villa. Unheated pools are typically open from spring to the end of October — Villa Tao Bay's, for example, from 1 April to 31 October — and the heated pools for most or all of the year. Each villa page gives its pool's opening dates and size; if your dates fall in April, May, October or the winter, tell us and we'll only send you villas whose pool will be open.
